Are you experiencing abuse or domestic violence? Contact a hotline in Denmark for support

Domestic abuse is any action or behaviour from a partner or spouse, girlfriend/boyfriend or family member that aims to control you. For some, this is physical violence, for others it takes the form of verbal, emotional, sexual or financial abuse.

If you are being psychologically, emotionally or physically harmed, you are not alone. Statistics show that one in three women and one in three men have experienced abuse and domestic violence. If you're looking for support, there are 5 abuse and domestic violence hotlines in Denmark. Reach out if this is happening:

  • Your partner/family member has told you they will commit suicide if you leave
  • Your privacy online being invaded
  • Your belongings and property being destroyed
  • Not allowing you to work or get an education
  • Believing that your partner/family member’s aggressive behavior is your fault
  • Feeling helpless, desperate, or emotionally numb
