Struggling with worry, anxiety or fear? Contact a hotline in England for free support

If you're in England and you're struggling with anxious thoughts, experiencing a panic attack, or think you may have anxiety, there are people who can help. There are 7 helplines in England that help with anxiety. Anxiety is common and you're not alone in what you're experiencing – no matter how confusing or overwhelming it may feel. Anxiety symptoms may present like any of the following:

  • Shutting off in situations where you feel threatened
  • Feeling like you're in danger
  • Scary thoughts that feel like they came out of nowhere
  • Restlessness, fidgeting, or can't seem to sit still
  • Trembling, sweating, or feeling clammy
  • Suddenly feeling hot or cold
  • Changes in appetite
  • Increased heart rate

These are all typical signs of anxiety. For some people, these feelings and thoughts are mild. For others, they are sudden, intense and terrifying, making them even wonder if they are dying. Anxiety can be extremely challenging to deal with and can cause you to feel alone in what you're going through.

It's important to remind yourself that what you're going through is normal. You are not alone – there are people in England who understand and can help.
