Struggling to cope with grief and loss? Hotline support is available in England

Many people struggle to come to terms with a huge loss. However, you don't need to bear the burden of grief on your own. You can find free support in England from 5 hotlines. If you recognize any of these symptoms, then talking through your experience with someone can help:

  • Relief if your lost loved one had a painful or debilitating illness
  • Complete shock and feeling that the loss is not real
  • Body aches and pains and headaches
  • Using substances to cope with the pain
  • Feeling extremely lonely and pining for the person or thing you lost
  • Needing to be constantly distracted from the pain
  • Feeling like there's a pit in your stomach
  • A feeling of abandonment by the person you lost

Grief is a very subjective experience and there is no typical way to grieve. However, most people find that they experience several different emotions. This can feel confusing and scary.

You may feel that nobody will be able to relate to how you're feeling. However, there are people in England who are open to hearing about your experiences and they want to support you. Talking openly about how you feel and having someone to listen to you can help you feel less alone.

If you are ready to talk to someone about grief or loss, you can contact a hotline in England for free and confidential support.
