Find support for dementia and Alzheimer's from a helpline in India

Dementia and Alzheimer's might sound scary and confusing. You might have a lot of questions and doubts about how you will cope with the diagnosis. Fortunately, there are 11 hotlines in India that provide support with dementia and Alzheimer's, where you can get free support. Dementia and Alzheimer's can look like:

  • Having a hard time finding the right word
  • Finding it difficult to speak and focus on what you’re saying
  • Expressing your own thoughts may become more trying
  • Diminishing interest in things you used to enjoy
  • Feeling depressed and pessimistic for no obvious reason
  • Confusion about time, mixing past with present events
  • Being confused and uncertain about what is happening
  • You become paranoid and feel like everyone is working against you

Dementia and Alzheimer’s could make you feel a range of emotions, from fear to disbelief or even peaceful acceptance. It is natural to feel all of that and to be apprehensive about what the future brings at times. It can be confusing to go through it alone.

Receiving the diagnosis of dementia and Alzheimer’s can be a life-changing experience. Trying to figure it out on your own might be extremely challenging. Consider reaching out to people in India who understand to help you cope better.
