Are family matters negatively impacting on your life? Reach out to a hotline for free support in India

Family problems can be difficult to cope with. Personality clashes and communication breakdowns hurt the most when they happen at home. Whether you’re struggling with family-based abuse, trauma, tension, addiction or even parents who demand perfection, you are not alone. Take the first step and contact one of 21 helplines in India if you're experiencing the following:

  • Family issues around domestic violence, sexual abuse, divorce, bereavement or trauma.
  • Trauma or loss of a loved one and its after effects on your family.
  • Job loss, financial struggles or gambling and the impact these can have on your family.
  • Co-dependency, in which a family member relies on you for emotional, mental or physical support.
  • Stress in the family, caused by issues with housing, money or unemployment.
  • Serious family issues such as divorce, addiction, loss of a family member, or sexual abuse.
  • A family member suffering from disability, illness or mental health problems.
  • Problems such as consistent rivalry, mistrust or personality clashes between any of your family members.

Family problems can be complicated. When different personalities are forced to live together under one roof, there's bound to be conflict. For some families, the conflict is severe and it can leave you feeling trapped, like you're living in a prison rather than a loving home.

Family challenges can be hard to solve because there may be many people involved. It can be difficult to even know where to start. Reaching out to a compassionate hotline volunteer or counselor in India can be a positive first step. You may benefit from voicing your frustrations to someone who wants to listen, understand, and support you.
