Contact a hotline in Kazakhstan to get advice on how to support someone you're worried about.

Watching a loved one experience what resembles an emotional crisis can be hard. It's normal to be worried and to wonder how and whether you can help. There are 1 hotlines in Kazakhstan that you can contact for free advice, if your loved one is experiencing any of the following:

  • They are easily startled.
  • They are struggling at school or work.
  • They complain about being about being tired all the time.
  • They've recently experienced a significant life event like a break up or a death.
  • They always seems to be down or in a low mood.
  • They seem irritable and their moods are unpredictable.
  • They seem secretive, like they're hiding something.
  • They don’t seem to be keeping up with their daily responsibilities.

When someone you love opens up to you about difficult thoughts and feelings, not knowing how to respond is very normal. Yet it can make you feel helpless and cause you distress. Fortunately, there are lots of simple ways you can show your support.

If you contact a hotline in Kazakhstan, you'll be connected to a knowledgeable volunteer, peer or counselor who can help. They can talk you through different ways of supporting a loved one and provide you with referrals if needed. They can also help you find ways to cope with your own distress.
