Get support for loneliness from a free hotline in Malaysia

Loneliness is something that everyone experiences from time to time. But when loneliness doesn't go away, it can start to have a serious impact on your mental and physical wellbeing. If you're struggling with these symptoms of chronic loneliness, reach out to one of 8 helplines in Malaysia for support.

  • Feeling hopeless, like you'll be lonely forever.
  • Feeling very sad and experiencing an overall low mood.
  • Feeling fatigued and low in energy.
  • In extreme cases, thoughts of self-harm or suicide.
  • Feeling frustrated, anxious or irritable.
  • Feeling worthless and full of self-doubt.
  • Feeling that life is meaningless.
  • Drinking or using substances to cope with negative feelings.

When loneliness is experienced for a long time, it's usually because you're not connecting with others on a deep level. People were made to experience meaningful connections, so when we feel disconnected from others, it can have a negative impact on our wellbeing.

You may be reluctant to ask for help, especially if it feels like nobody will relate to you and understand what you're going through. But getting help can relieve the emotional burden you're carrying and help you feel less isolated. There are compassionate helpline volunteers and counselors in Malaysia that want to support you.

If you feel like you might need support with your feelings of loneliness, try reaching out to a hotline in Malaysia. It's free and confidential.
