Are you worried about a loved one? Contact a helpline in Malaysia for support.

Mental health problems affect about 13% of the global population. When it seems like a loved one is battling with their mental health, you might be struggling yourself to know how to support them. If you notice these signs in someone you care about, reach out for advice from one of 9 hotlines in Malaysia.

  • They seem to believe things that seem very strange or frightening to you.
  • They complain about being about being tired all the time.
  • They seem emotionally distant.
  • They have expressed a desire to die.
  • They are struggling at school or work.
  • They don’t seem to be keeping up with their daily responsibilities.
  • They reject invitations to spend time together or hang out.
  • They are seeing or hearing things that are not really there.

If you've noticed a change in a loved one's attitude or behavior, it can be scary. It's normal to feel worried and unsure about what you can do to help. Simply being there for your loved one, even in small ways, can be extremely valuable.

If you feel alone in supporting a loved one through a crisis, then reaching out to a helpline volunteer in Malaysia could help. A helpline volunteer will offer you trusted advice on how to be there for the person you care about while looking after yourself at the same time.
