Need help making a decision about an unplanned pregnancy? Reach out to a hotline in New Zealand.

If you're pregnant and it was unplanned, you're not alone. Many women will experience an unplanned pregnancy in their lifetimes. There are 3 helplines in New Zealand that you can call today to get advice and support. If you relate to any of the following, reach out for help:

  • Feeling alone, like you have nobody to turn to for advice or support.
  • Feeling anxious about how your body and health will be affected depending on your choice.
  • Being concerned about how your choice may impact your mental health.
  • A fear of being judged if you try to talk about the pregnancy and your options.
  • Being concerned about how you may be treated by healthcare staff.
  • Concerns about your relationship and whether it'll survive if you go through with the pregnancy.
  • Feeling concerned about your financial situation if you go through with the pregnancy.
  • Feeling regret like you made a big mistake.

It's normal to feel many different, conflicting emotions as you figure out what to do next. It's just as normal to have made up your mind easily and to feel at peace with your choice. However you're feeling is valid.

Finding out you're pregnant when it wasn't planned can put you in a difficult position. If you're not ready to tell anyone about it, you may feel alone. However, helpine counselors and volunteers are available in New Zealand to offer a listening ear and zero-judgment support, no matter where you are in your decision-making process.
