Suicidal thoughts can affect anyone. They are more common than you might think, which is why there are 1 suicide hotlines (or helplines and crisis lines) in Rwanda that can offer help to anyone struggling with feeling suicidal. Suicidal thoughts might involve:

  • Thinking there is nothing worth living for
  • Feeling like you need to escape, or stop the pain
  • A sense of finality, as if there is no other choice
  • Having urges to hurt yourself
  • A deep sense of hopelessness
  • Not wanting to be alive anymore
