Reach out to a hotline in Singapore for support with abuse and domestic violence

Domestic abuse is any action or behaviour from a partner or spouse, girlfriend/boyfriend or family member that aims to control you. For some, this is physical violence, for others it takes the form of verbal, emotional, sexual or financial abuse.

If you are in Singapore and you are exposed to violence, 3 hotlines that support with abuse and domestic violence are available to you. You do not have to bear that burden in quiet, alone. Reach out if you are noticing these signs:

  • Your partner/family member yells at you
  • Being taken advantage of financially
  • Your partner/family member has told you they will commit suicide if you leave
  • Your belongings and property being destroyed
  • Your devices are being monitored or tracked by a partner/family member
  • Your partner/family member constantly checks up on you
  • Being forced to have sex or perform other sexual activities that you don’t want to
  • Your partner/family member has an unpredictable, violent temperament, and they direct the anger at you

Experiencing a wide range of emotions is perfectly normal for victims of abuse and domestic violence. Doubting the clarity of your mind or your ability to understand what’s happening is also a common consequence of the abuse you have experienced.

If you're experiencing abuse and domestic violence, feeling scared is perfectly natural. You could be doubtful and convinced that there’s no way out. Talking to someone in Singapore who understands how abusive relationships work might help you feel less hopeless and powerless.

For free and confidential support with abuse and domestic violence, consider contacting a hotline in Singapore today.
