Are family matters negatively impacting on your life? Reach out to a hotline for free support in Illinois, United States

Some families are more complicated than others. Separation, divorce, abuse, grief, financial strife and neglect are just a few of the family matters that could be causing you concern. You are never alone. If you are experiencing any of the following in your home or family life, there are 15 in Illinois, United States where you can get the understanding and support that you need:

  • Family trauma and issues around grief, addiction, laziness, unemployment, finances or mistrust.
  • A family member who puts pressure on you and tries to control you.
  • Personality clashes, arguments and fights in your family.
  • Serious family issues such as divorce, addiction, loss of a family member, or sexual abuse.
  • Drug, alcohol or gambling addiction and the impact this can have on your family.
  • Family conflicts with new step-parents, step-brothers, step-sisters or step-children.
  • Money problems, unemployment, poverty and the many impacts these can have on your family.
  • Constant bickering, arguing or shouting between family members.

When you're experiencing family problems, you may tend to blame yourself. But you are not responsible for the behavior of your family members. While you can't control the poor behavior of others, you can get help with how to respond.

You may feel alone if you're experiencing family problems. You may think that nobody else has been through what you're going through and that nobody will relate. However, there are hotline volunteers and counselors in Illinois, United States who care about the challenges you're facing and want to help you.
