Reach out to a hotline in New York, United States for support with dementia and Alzheimer's

Dementia and Alzheimer's might sound scary and confusing. You might have a lot of questions and doubts about how you will cope with the diagnosis. Fortunately, there are 14 hotlines in New York, United States that provide support with dementia and Alzheimer's, where you can get free support. Dementia and Alzheimer's can look like:

  • Expressing your own thoughts may become more trying
  • Finding yourself repeating questions when you are asked something so that you can focus better
  • Confusion about place, like getting confused about where you are at the moment
  • Taking longer to complete tasks you perform regularly
  • Getting confused over tasks that you used to perform routinely
  • Being easily irritated regardless of knowing it’s nothing you would normally get upset about
  • Having trouble with coordination and becoming clumsy
  • Having trouble making simple calculations

Although everyone responds to the occurrence of dementia and Alzheimer’s differently, most people manage the condition very well. You might, however, also experience episodes of fear and pessimism. These are natural responses to the changes occurring.

You might feel the need to maintain your self-sufficiency as long as possible. Reaching out to volunteers from a helpline that supports with dementia and Alzheimer’s can help you cope with the diagnosis in a healthy and productive way.
