Are you finding days at school or work stressful or difficult? Get free help from a hotline in South Africa.

Persistent problems at school or work may leave you feeling overwhelmed, stressed, singled out or left behind. What’s worse, such challenges can be impossible to avoid, with daily exposure impacting your mental health and wellbeing. There are 4 hotlines in South Africa where you can ask for help if you:

  • Have begun to ‘self-medicate’ with drugs or alcohol at or after school or work.
  • Pretend to be sick, hurt or busy to avoid attending classes, school or work.
  • Often feel overwhelmed, anxious, restless and unable to relax or concentrate.
  • Struggle to follow lessons or tasks that those around you appear to find easy.
  • Feel isolated, withdrawn and constantly tired at school or work.
  • Have intense school or work related anxiety, stress, fear or worry.
  • Avoid classes, school or work by faking symptoms, illnesses or engagements such as family events.
  • Have difficulty following lessons or instructions, and feel unable to focus.

If daily troubles at school or work are affecting your mental wellbeing, you’re not alone. Many people experience social anxiety, with difficulty interacting and fitting into groups. Others have trouble staying organised, comprehending lessons and tasks, or even remaining still and focused when in class or at the office.

Everyone experiences school and work differently. However, when your experience starts getting in the way of your potential and your happiness, it might be time to ask for support. For free and confidential support with school and work, consider contacting a hotline in South Africa today.
