Women United Against Abuse (MUM) is a non-profit organization founded in 2010, dedicated to supporting and protecting women who suffer gender-based violence (whether physical, psychological, sexual, or economic), helping them move from fear to safety and from dependence to a free, autonomous, and dignified life. MUM offers legal advice to guide women on their rights and available judicial resources; psychological support to address emotional wounds and restore self-esteem; job placement and training to facilitate job placement; and safe living spaces through its Ecoaldea project, which temporarily houses women and their children at risk, allowing them to escape the abusive environment even if they have not reported it. The service is aimed exclusively at women (without exclusion based on age, race, religion, sexual orientation, or social status) and seeks to be present throughout Spain, with headquarters in Madrid. In addition, MUM actively involves volunteers: professionals and committed individuals who collaborate in various areas—legal, psychological, social—and in prevention and awareness-raising projects that seek to break the cycle of gender-based violence in society.
