About Victims of Crime Helpline

The Victims of Crime Helpline is a (free call) telephone service that provides a first step for people affected by crime to access information, support, and referrals. The Helpline operates from 8am to 11pm, every day of the year.

The main sources of referral to the Helpline come from Victoria Police, community organisations and client self-referrals. The Helpline provides:
· A supportive listening environment for victims of crime · Information about victim entitlements and the criminal justice system · Information about the legal process, including after the offender is in jail, and · Connections to other support services, such as the Victims Assistance Program.
