About Национална телефонна линия за деца

The helpline is an opportunity for everyone – both children and caregivers to receive information, and psychological support from a specialist or to report a child at risk. The national telephone line for children 116 111 is managed and administered by the State Agency for Child Protection. The agency is the only specialized body of the Council of Ministers for management, coordination, and control for the implementation of the state policy on child protection activities in the Republic of Bulgaria. Since its inception, the line has been designed to support all children and their families. The operators who answer the calls are trained psychologists who 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, anonymously and completely free of charge, are ready to listen, support, advise, and guide callers on all matters that concern them. In the case of information about a risk for a child, the child protection authorities, in whose scope it is located, are immediately referred to investigate and take measures and actions for protection, and the Agency follows up the measures taken until the risk to the child ceases. As of June 2021, the National Children's Helpline 116 111 is part of the Child Helpline International Global Network, which covers 167 children's helplines in 140 countries.
