About National Freephone CareLine

National Freephone CareLine provides 24/7, free, compassionate and confidential support over . We exist to help people in Ireland who may require support with anxiety, Dementia & Alzheimer's, depression, family issues, grief & loss, loneliness, parenting, relationships, stress, supporting a friend or family member, physical illness.

When you reach out to us you will talk with one of our trained and supportive counselors or volunteers who have experience in how to help people with similar experiences to your own. They will listen, express empathy and understanding, and assist you to find a way through your situation. We are ready to support you 24/7, whether it's the middle of the day or the middle of the night.

Accessibility notes

Careline hours are 9am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 12pm on Saturday. The Samaritans take calls from family carers who wish to speak to someone outside of these hours.
