Depression can look different in different people, but it is generally experienced as a low mood that continues for at least two weeks. If you're depressed you may feel sad, hopeless, and unmotivated.

In Ireland, there are 10 free hotlines that support people experiencing the symptoms of depression. If you notice these signs of depression, consider reaching out:

  • You lost interest in things you used to enjoy and find important

  • You lost your sexual appetite
  • You feel worthless and deserving of disgust
  • You could be contemplating suicide
