About Samaritans

Samaritans offers 24/7, free and confidential listening support and information by phone. As part of Samaritans nationally we are here to help everyone who may need emotional support, is finding it difficult to cope, needs someone to listen or is worried about someone else. We don't give advice but provide non-judgemental support.

Regardless of what you're experiencing, whether it's a mental health crisis or well-being support, we will support you, for free. As part of our commitment to preventing suicide, we are available to help you if you are considering suicide or harming yourself, or if you are noticing warning signs in a friend or family member

When you contact us you will talk with one of our friendly and supportive volunteers who will listen to you with empathy and understanding, and work together with you to find a meaningful way forward. They are experienced in knowing how to help people who have challenges like what you are going through. Anyone can contact us, regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity or religious beliefs. We recognise that difficult mental health or crisis experiences can happen at any time, so we are available 24 hours a day, every day of the week.
