Helpline 1492 is a nationwide, 24-hour short number available for women who have experienced physical, psychological, economic and/or sexual violence. It provides support to women who: feel the need to talk about their situation and seek a way forward, for example when looking for protection from violence but not knowing where or to whom to turn; wish to explore possible options for ending an abusive relationship; are faced with decisions on how to organize their own and their children’s lives after divorce; have been subjected to rape or sexual abuse; and find themselves in other similar situations. All calls to the helpline are free of charge. Calls are not recorded.
