Have you suffered at the hands of bullies? Reach out to a South Africa helpline today.

Whether you’ve been bullied, online, at home, at school or at work, you are never alone. Support is always available. There are 4 helplines in South Africa for the victims of bullying. Reach out today to connect with someone who understands how lonely and afraid you feel. If you resonate with any of the following, seek support from a helpline near you:

  • Someone has made repeated negative comments about your appearance, culture, family, lifestyle or behaviour.
  • You have been threatened, belittled or shamed by someone on gaming or social media platforms.
  • Others have purposely left you out of social groups at school, work or elsewhere.
  • One or more people has repeatedly called you names and teased or humiliated you.
  • You have been threatened or physically harassed by others on a regular basis.
  • You have been the victim of pranks, rumours, naming and shaming online.
  • Others have openly left you out of friendship groups and activities in a shaming way.
  • A popular or forceful person has told others not to be friends with you.

There are countless ways in which bullies can victimise others. Some are public and overt, while others are private and covert. Although you might feel rejected, self-conscious and afraid, you are not alone. Bullying is never a true reflection of who you are, how you look, or your life’s potential.

Bullying is commonplace, affecting people from every walk of life, but that doesn’t make it right. Bullies should not define who you are or the paths you take in life. Consider reaching out to a helpline in South Africa to talk with someone who understands what you're going through and how you feel.
