Concerned about a loved one's mental health? Contact a hotline in Lebanon for guidance.

Mental health problems affect about 13% of the global population. When it seems like a loved one is battling with their mental health, you might be struggling yourself to know how to support them. If you notice these signs in someone you care about, reach out for advice from one of 4 hotlines in Lebanon.

  • They have suddenly lost or gained a lot of weight.
  • You don’t hear from for days or weeks, when you used to hear from them often.
  • They seem to believe things that seem very strange or frightening to you.
  • They have mentioned that they have the intention to hurt someone else.
  • They have become highly self-critical.
  • They often complain of aches and pains that have no obvious cause.
  • They seem secretive, like they're hiding something.
  • They've recently experienced a significant life event like a break up or a death.

Most people find it difficult to know what to do or say when someone close to them appears to be struggling with their mental health. It's normal to feel a desire to help yet at the same time feel helpless. There are ways you can support your loved one that are not overly complicated.

If you feel alone in supporting a loved one through a crisis, then reaching out to a helpline volunteer in Lebanon could help. A helpline volunteer will offer you trusted advice on how to be there for the person you care about while looking after yourself at the same time.
