Have symptoms of trauma and PTSD? Contacting a hotline in Japan can help

If you have been through a traumatic experience affecting your life, know that you don’t have to go through it alone. Reach out to one of 8 helplines across Japan. If you aren’t sure if you have PTSD, then read through these common symptoms and see if you can relate:

  • Overwhelming negative emotions such as guilt, shame, sadness and anxiety
  • Becoming isolated, withdrawn and avoiding social situations
  • Repetitive thoughts about how you could have changed or avoided the traumatic event
  • Feeling like nobody will understand what you are going through
  • Feeling unable to trust anyone
  • Flashbacks of a traumatic event
  • Feeling on edge and finding it difficult to relax
  • Self-harming or destructive behaviour

If you have any of these symptoms, reach out for help – you don’t have to be alone in your struggle. There is hope on the horizon and people who understand what you are going through.

The symptoms of trauma and PTSD can become overwhelming. Assistance is available in Japan to help you unpack your experiences and begin making sense of them. You can feel seen, heard and understood through compassionate listening and support.

If you feel like you might need support with trauma and PTSD, try reaching out to a hotline in Japan. It's free and confidential.
