If you're struggling with suicide, you are not alone. There are always people who can help. 8 free helplines are available in Japan for anyone experiencing suicidal thoughts. If you're feeling any of the following, reach out and talk to someone who understands and can help.

  • Thinking there is nothing worth living for
  • Feeling like you need to escape, or stop the pain
  • A sense of finality, as if there is no other choice
  • Having urges to hurt yourself
  • A deep sense of hopelessness
  • Not wanting to be alive anymore
  • Feeling like you don't deserve to go on
  • Feeling like you wouldn't be missed if you were gone

When you're suicidal, you're going through an emotional crisis. Being in crisis mode can give rise to intense emotions that are difficult to process. You may be overwhelmed and want nothing more than for the pain to end. It may not seem like it, but things can get better.

It's normal to feel like nobody will get you when you're feeling suicidal. It may even feel like you're beyond help. But crisis supporters don't think so. Crisis supporters in Japan want to help you and they are available 24/7 to lend a listening ear.
