Get help for eating disorder and body image problems from a helpline in Singapore.

It's normal to feel disatisfied with the way your body looks some days. But you don't deserve to feel this way most days. Poor body image can lead to disordered eating. If you have any of the following symptoms, there are 2 free hotlines in Singapore that can help you:

  • Trying to control your body weight/shape by vomiting, laxative abuse, or excessive exercise.
  • Shifting food around on your plate so it looks like you’ve eaten more than you have.
  • Fear of gaining weight and becoming larger.
  • Excessive thinking about food, eating, and body weight or shape.
  • Feeling guilty, ashamed, and disgusted after eating too much or after eating the “wrong” foods.
  • Being overly cautious of food portion size, especially about eating "too much."
  • Dizziness and potentially fainting.
  • Distorted body image: thinking you’re overweight when you’re a normal weight or underweight.

You may feel bad about how far your disordered eating has gone. Disordered eating and poor body image can cause feelings of shame and guilt. Often, these feelings make people want to withdraw from others.

Taking the first step to talk to someone about what you're going through is hard but the sooner you get help, the sooner you may start to feel better. When you contact a helpline in Singapore, a trained helpline counselor will listen to your concerns and offer you the support you need.

If you feel like you might need support with your body image or eating disorders, try reaching out to a hotline in Singapore. It's free and confidential.
