About Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service

The Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) provides services across Wellington, Porirua, Kāpiti, the Hutt Valley and the Wairarapa. If you or someone you know needs urgent help, call us any time and trained professionals can provide mental health and addiction advice.

If you are in crisis and are currently being treated by an MHAIDS service, call the team that supports you between 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. You can also call 111 for an emergency response, or find other options for support on our website. We triage acute referrals and liaise with appropriate teams to provide support needed. Our telephone contact centre is managed by Whakarongorau Aotearoa.
