Get free support from a suicide hotline in Massachusetts, United States

If you're experiencing suicidal thoughts, you're not alone. Suicidal thoughts aren't talked about very much, but many people experience them during their lives. There are 6 suicide hotlines (crisis lines or helplines) in Massachusetts, United States that can help. If you're not sure what suicidal thoughts look like, they might look like any of the following:

  • Having urges to hurt yourself
  • Feeling unwanted or like a burden to others
  • A sense of finality, as if there is no other choice
  • Thinking about killing yourself
  • Feeling like your life has already ended
  • Making plans for ending your life
  • Thinking there is nothing worth living for
  • Feeling as though your friends and family would be better off without you

When you're experiencing severe emotional distress, you may feel desperate to relieve your pain. Suicide is not the answer. It may feel like the only way to manage problems that seem unbearable, but it's not. There are always other options and there is always hope for a better tomorrow.

It's important to know that how you're feeling is normal and that you are not alone. There are trained crisis line volunteers in Massachusetts, United States who will listen to you and support you. Speaking to a compassionate volunteer may give you that extra bit of hope that you need to keep going.
