If you're experiencing suicidal thoughts, you're not alone. Suicidal thoughts aren't talked about very much, but many people experience them during their lives. There are 5 suicide hotlines (crisis lines or helplines) in Slovakia that can help. If you're not sure what suicidal thoughts look like, they might look like any of the following:
- Making plans for ending your life
- Feeling like you can't cope with the pain anymore
- Losing your motivation to keep going
- Feeling like you don't deserve to go on
- Thinking you're going to feel this way forever
- Looking up information about how to kill yourself
- Not wanting to be alive anymore
- A sense of finality, as if there is no other choice
When you're suicidal, you're going through an emotional crisis. Being in crisis mode can give rise to intense emotions that are difficult to process. You may be overwhelmed and want nothing more than for the pain to end. It may not seem like it, but things can get better.
It's normal to feel like nobody will get you when you're feeling suicidal. It may even feel like you're beyond help. But crisis supporters don't think so. Crisis supporters in Slovakia want to help you and they are available 24/7 to lend a listening ear.
