About Breathing Space Scotland

Breathing Space Scotland offers free, compassionate and confidential support over phone and online chat. We support adults, youth in Scotland who may need emotional support with anxiety, bullying, depression, loneliness, relationships, self-harm, stress, suicide, supporting a friend or family member, trauma & PTSD.

We are dedicated to preventing suicide. If you are contemplating suicide or wanting to kill yourself, we will listen without judgment and support you.

When you contact us you will talk with one of our trained and supportive counselors who have experience in how to help people with similar experiences to your own. They will listen, express empathy and understanding, and assist you to find a way through your situation.

Service available to people in Scotland aged over 16. Deaf or HOH callers can speak to an advisor through the SCOTLAND-BSL service (https://contactscotland-bsl.org/) Monday - Friday 18.00 - 23:59 and Saturday and Sunday 08.00 - 23:59. Webchat is available: Monday to Friday, 18:00 to 02.00 and Saturday and Sunday, 16:00 - 23:59.
