Get support for dementia and Alzheimer's from a hotline in China

If you’re experiencing a loss of your ability to remember things or think clearly, you’re not alone. In fact, one person develops dementia every three seconds. There are 10 hotlines in China that provide support with dementia and Alzheimer's. Contact them if you are noticing the following symptoms:

  • Using strange words to name otherwise very familiar objects
  • Having trouble with coordination and becoming clumsy
  • Difficulties remembering what you knew and memorizing new things
  • Confusion about place, like getting confused about where you are at the moment
  • Finding it difficult to speak and focus on what you’re saying
  • Taking longer to complete tasks you perform regularly
  • Expressing your own thoughts may become more trying
  • Forgetfulness of simple things, like a shopping list, more than usual

Although everyone responds to the occurrence of dementia and Alzheimer’s differently, most people manage the condition very well. You might, however, also experience episodes of fear and pessimism. These are natural responses to the changes occurring.

Coping with dementia and Alzheimer’s is a highly personal experience. It might feel easier to isolate yourself. However, research has revealed that people who reach out in times like these are more likely to find a positive meaning in this experience.
