Struggling to cope with grief and loss? Hotline support is available in Finland

The pain of grief and loss can make you want to withdraw from others and turn inwards. You may feel isolated. However, support is available. There are 8 hotlines in Finland that support with grief and loss. If you're experiencing any of these symptoms, you may find relief from talking to someone who understands:

  • Anger and blame directed toward yourself, others, or God for not preventing the loss
  • An inability to find pleasure in the activities you used to enjoy
  • An increase or decrease in appetite
  • Feeling more irritable than usual
  • Body aches and pains and headaches
  • A feeling of deep sadness and emptiness
  • Feeling emotionally unstable, like you're on an emotional rollercoaster
  • Feeling regret about things that were left unsaid

There is no typical way to grieve, everyone's experience is unique. You may experience a range of emotions as you struggle to find meaning and accept the loss.

Grieving is a very personal experience and because of that, it can feel isolating. If you're in Finland, speaking to someone who has been there too, and who understands can help you feel less alone.
