Hotline support for eating disorders and body image concerns is available in Manitoba, Canada.

  • Distorted body image: thinking you’re overweight when you’re a normal weight or underweight.

  • Experiencing strong negative emotions when thinking about your body.
  • Feeling guilty, ashamed, and disgusted after eating too much or after eating the “wrong” foods.

  • Growth of a fine layer of hair on the body called lanugo.

You may feel bad about how far your disordered eating has gone. Disordered eating and poor body image can cause feelings of shame and guilt. Often, these feelings make people want to withdraw from others.
