Some families are more complicated than others. Separation, divorce, abuse, grief, financial strife and neglect are just a few of the family matters that could be causing you concern. You are never alone. If you are experiencing any of the following in your home or family life, there are 7 in Manitoba, Canada where you can get the understanding and support that you need:

  • Problems caused by a lack of money for resources such as food, clothing and accommodation.
  • A verbally, emotionally, psychologically, sexually or physically abusive family member.
  • A sibling, parent or guardian who is absent physically or emotionally.
  • Parents or siblings who argue, fight, bully or try to control each other and you.
  • Trauma or loss of a loved one and its after effects on your family.
  • Drug, alcohol or gambling addiction and the impact this can have on your family.
  • Family members who ask too much of you or depend on you for support.
  • A family member suffering from disability, illness or mental health problems.

Family problems can be complicated. When different personalities are forced to live together under one roof, there's bound to be conflict. For some families, the conflict is severe and it can leave you feeling trapped, like you're living in a prison rather than a loving home.

You may feel alone if you're experiencing family problems. You may think that nobody else has been through what you're going through and that nobody will relate.
