Contact a hotline for eating disorder and body image issues in England today

If you're unhappy with the way your body looks and it's affecting how you feel from day to day, you may be at risk for developing an eating disorder. Perhaps you're already experiencing eating problems. If you have any of the following symptoms, reach out to one of 5 hotlines in England.

  • Cutting out certain foods or food groups all of a sudden.
  • Lying to others about whether you have eaten so you can skip meals.
  • Sudden weight loss or weight gain.
  • Experiencing strong negative emotions when thinking about your body.
  • Regularly checking your body in the mirror for flaws.
  • Weighing yourself often, sometimes every day or even multiple times a day.
  • Bruising easily with bruises taking longer to fade.
  • Growth of a fine layer of hair on the body called lanugo.

It can be hard to deal with the feelings of shame and guilt that so often accompany negative body image and disordered eating. Admitting that you've lost control and that you need help may feel harder than keeping your problems to yourself.
