Lifeline offers 24/7, free, and confidential support over the phone and text message (SMS). We support everyone in New Zealand who may need emotional support with a range of topics including anxiety, depression, self-harm, stress, and suicide.
People call us for many different mental health, crisis, and behavioral health reasons. Regardless of what you are experiencing, we can support you. Talking with us is free. We are dedicated to preventing suicide. If you are contemplating suicide or want to kill yourself, we will listen without judgment and support you.
When you reach out to us you will talk with one of our friendly and supportive counselors or volunteers who are experienced in how to help people in your situation. They will listen to you, unpack your story and feelings, and work with you to help you through your challenges. Regardless of your age, gender, ethnicity, or religious beliefs, we will listen in a supportive and non-judgmental capacity. We are always open. You can contact us for free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
