Loneliness affects many people for many different reasons. If you have felt lonely for a long time and you notice any of the following symptoms, you can get support from one of 10 free helplines in British Columbia, Canada.

  • Feeling that life is meaningless.
  • Feeling extremely tired and even burnt out when you try to socialize.
  • Feeling hopeless, like you'll be lonely forever.
  • Feeling that nobody "gets" you.
  • Feeling frustrated, anxious or irritable.
  • Feeling that your physical and/or mental health is suffering.
  • Feeling a sense of emptiness like there's a void that needs to be filled.

Nobody is immune to loneliness, not even social butterflies. Loneliness is usually experienced when you feel emotionally disconnected from others. Feeling disconnected from others can make you feel empty, like there's a painful void in your life that needs to be filled.
