Get help from a substance abuse and addiction hotline in Canada today

If you or a loved one is struggling with substance use, such as drugs and alcohol addiction, you’re not alone. Substance use disorders and substance-related problems affect millions of people each year, but the good news is that they are treatable. If you notice any of the following symptoms, reach out to one of 6 helplines in Canada.

  • Sleeping at strange hours of the day or night.
  • Feeling an urge to use drugs, alcohol or other substances regularly.
  • Using substances as a way to relieve negative or uncomfortable emotions.
  • Obsessive thinking about using drugs or alcohol that makes it hard to focus on anything else.
  • Spending money on drugs or alcohol despite it being unaffordable.
  • Spending a lot of time recovering from drugs, alcohol, or other substances.
  • Spending a lot more time alone or with a new social circle.
  • Having a short temper and being more irritable and aggressive than usual.

When you've relied on substances for a long time, it's hard to imagine how you'll cope without them. But with the right support, you can overcome drug or alcohol dependence and live a much healthier, happier, and fulfilling life.

You can speak to a trusted counselor about substance-related problems today. Contact a free, confidential hotline in Canada for help. Whether you just need someone who will listen to you with an open mind, or whether you're looking for recovery resources, hotline volunteers are available and ready to support you.
