Get free support from a suicide hotline in Australia

Suicide can sometimes feel like a scary thing to talk about. However, there are always people who can connect with and support you. If you are going through any of the following, you can reach out to a free suicide hotline (also called crisis lines or helplines) today – there are 12 suicide hotlines in Australia that can listen and help.

  • Feeling like you need to escape, or stop the pain
  • Withdrawing from people in your life or cutting yourself off from others
  • An unbearable amount of emotional pain that you can't imagine will ever go away
  • Feeling like your own health and wellbeing no longer matter
  • Feeling or thinking you are worthless
  • Thinking you're going to feel this way forever
  • Wanting to disappear
  • A deep sense of hopelessness

Feeling suicidal suggests that you're experiencing serious emotional distress. When you're flooded with strong negative emotions, it may seem like there are no solutions to your problems. Taking your life is not the way out, there are other ways to end the pain you're feeling.

It's normal to feel like nobody will get you when you're feeling suicidal. It may even feel like you're beyond help. But crisis supporters don't think so. Crisis supporters in Australia want to help you and they are available 24/7 to lend a listening ear.

For free and confidential support with suicide, consider contacting a hotline in Australia today.
