Experiencing anxiety or a panic attack? Get free support for anxiety from a hotline in United Kingdom

Anxiety can be extremely overwhelming and confusing. It's very common to experience anxiety at some point in your life, although what this looks like can vary from person to person. If you're in United Kingdom and you're feeling anxious, worried or fearful, there are 19 helplines who can help. Anxiety symptoms can look like any of the following:

  • Ruminating (spending a lot of time obsessing over things that are worrying you)
  • Trembling, sweating, or feeling clammy
  • Sudden shortness of breath
  • Increased heart rate
  • Feeling like you can't calm down
  • Struggling to concentrate or focus because you're distracted by worrying
  • Restlessness, fidgeting, or can't seem to sit still

These thoughts and feelings are normal for someone experiencing anxiety. Even at a mild level, they can have an impact on the way you cope with day-to-day life. For some, these feelings are so intense that you may feel like you are dying or completely losing control.

Tackling these thoughts and feelings on your own can be really difficult, but it's important to know that there are ways to manage your anxiety. There are people in United Kingdom who understand and want to help you get through this.
