Get support for grief and loss from a hotline in Sweden

Many people struggle to come to terms with a huge loss. However, you don't need to bear the burden of grief on your own. You can find free support in Sweden from 8 hotlines. If you recognize any of these symptoms, then talking through your experience with someone can help:

  • Feeling regret about things that were left unsaid
  • Having nightmares or disturbing dreams related to the loss
  • Complete shock and feeling that the loss is not real
  • A sense of hopelessness and a bleak outlook about life without your loved one
  • Difficulty admitting to yourself that the person or thing you lost is really gone
  • Using substances to cope with the pain
  • Withdrawal from others and wanting to be alone
  • An inability to find pleasure in the activities you used to enjoy

It's normal to feel many different emotions when you're grieving. If you've never experienced grief or loss before, this can be scary. It might feel like you're losing control. However, what you're feeling is a completelty normal response to a significant loss.

It's okay to allow yourself to feel and experience your emotions without any shame. Nobody has the right to tell you how to feel because each person's grieving process is unique. For people in Sweden, getting proper support can provide a space to talk about your experience openly and help you feel less isolated.

If you think you might need support with grief or loss today, consider contacting a helpline in Sweden for free, confidential help.
