Experiencing anxiety or a panic attack? Get free support for anxiety from a hotline in Sweden

If you're in Sweden and you're struggling with anxious thoughts, experiencing a panic attack, or think you may have anxiety, there are people who can help. There are 13 helplines in Sweden that help with anxiety. Anxiety is common and you're not alone in what you're experiencing – no matter how confusing or overwhelming it may feel. Anxiety symptoms may present like any of the following:

  • Trembling, sweating, or feeling clammy
  • Restlessness, fidgeting, or can't seem to sit still
  • Suddenly feeling hot or cold
  • Increased heart rate
  • Feeling extremely nervous or overwhelmed
  • Feeling like something bad is going to happen
  • Feeling like you're out of control
  • Holding tension in your body (clenched jaw, tension in shoulders and neck, frowning without realizing)

All of these are normal symptoms of anxiety. Some of these are similar to what you might feel during stressful times, but with anxiety, you might feel these even when there isn't anything causing you to be stressed. Some people also experience anxiety or panic attacks, which are sudden moments of very intense panic or fear.

Although anxiety can make you feel alone in your struggles, what you're going through is very common. There's always help available in Sweden, and someone to help you understand and manage your anxiety.
