Need help making a decision about a pregnancy? Reach out to a hotline in India.

Pregnancies that are unplanned or have doubts attached to them happen almost as often as planned pregnancies. So while you may feel alone, what you're experiencing is quite common. If you relate to any of the following and you're not sure what to do next, contact one of 12 hotlines in India:

  • Feeling alone, like you have nobody to turn to for advice or support.
  • Feeling anxious about how your body and health will be affected depending on your choice.
  • Being concerned about how your choice may impact your mental health.
  • A fear of being judged if you try to talk about the pregnancy and your options.
  • Being concerned about how you may be treated by healthcare staff.
  • Concerns about your relationship and whether it'll survive if you go through with the pregnancy.
  • Feeling concerned about your financial situation if you go through with the pregnancy.
  • Feeling regret like you made a big mistake.

Right now, you might be feeling devastation, indifference, happiness, or a mix of all three. There is no right or wrong way to respond to an unplanned pregnancy. Every woman will experience it differently according to her unique situation.

If you don't know what options are available to you, or if you're not sure what option is best, a helpline counselor in India can guide and support you. A helpline counselor will listen to you without any judgment and will never guilt or manipulate you into choosing something you don't really want.
