Reach out to a hotline in Ontario, Canada for support with substance abuse and drugs or alcohol addiction

If you or someone you know is abusing substances, or struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, you may not know where to turn. Fortunately, support is available in Ontario, Canada from 23 helplines for substance abuse. If you or a loved one has been experiencing any of the following, reach out today:

  • Spending a lot more time alone or with a new social circle.
  • Being unable to keep up with daily responsibilities at home, work, or school.
  • Using substances as a way to relieve negative or uncomfortable emotions.
  • Being secretive and dishonest about when and how often you use drugs or alcohol and with whom.
  • Stealing money or selling items to afford to buy drugs or alcohol
  • Spending money on drugs or alcohol despite it being unaffordable.
  • Low mood including feelings of hopelessness, sadness or depression
  • Experiencing unpleasant side-effects (otherwise known as withdrawal symptoms) after stopping drugs, alcohol or other substances.

When you're grappling with drug or alcohol abuse, recovery may seem impossible. It may feel like nobody and nothing can help you. However, substance abuse and addiction is treatable. Others have recovered and so can you. Healing starts with the right support.
